Mr. Foster is graduate from The University of Mississippi earning a Bachelor’s degree in Social Studies Education and earning a Master’s degree in Educational Leadership. He has worked in education for 22 years serving as a teacher, baseball coach, academic team coach, club sponsor, bus driver, assistant principal, high school and middle school principal, Director of Curriculum, Director of Federal Programs, Director of Assessments, and Assistant Superintendent. He has been married to Cydney Foster for almost 20 years; they have 2 sons, Gabe, who currently serves in the U.S. Navy, and Tom, a 9th grade student at West Marion High School.

He has also served on several MDE State-Wide committees including the assessment administrative committee that worked to set the original cut scores for the current State assessments and most recently on the committee to set new standards for computer and technology education in Mississippi. He served on a national panel for McGraw-Hill Education for two years working with them on their online learning and assessment products. He also served as an educational trainer in the area of Data Analysis and Instruction for EMCED. Mr. Foster looks forward to working with the administrators, teachers, staff, students, and community members of the Marion County School District to take our schools to the next level!
